Loud music from the bar well past midnight!!! Not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes, which is just basic!!! Had an uncomfortable experience with staff barging into my room early in the morning!!!

The place had a cozy log burner—that really set the mood, I mean it’s not easy to find a spot like that nowadays. And the breakfast? Cooked to order and it was perfection on a plate, absolutely unforgettable.

Yeah, it wasn’t exactly cheap but what you get makes it acceptable.

i had a wonderful time staying here recently, much better than my last trip to alford. the room was spacious and well-equipped, making it a comfy retreat. i really enjoyed the exceptional dinner and the friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience.

the shower cubicle felt dated.

The food was outstanding, especially the haddock and chips, and the hotel was super clean with comfy beds. I loved relaxing in the lovely garden area and checking out the entertainment options in the lounge. The only minor hiccup was the creaky bed in our deluxe room, but it didn't ruin our experience at all! 😊

Cozy stay with super staff!

Had a lovely one-night stay here. The bed was sooo comfy, and the staff were super friendly. Enjoyed a nice meal at the bar and loved the cozy vibe with a log burner. Only thing was the WiFi was a bit spotty at times, but not a huge deal. Breakfast was tasty too!

The garden was a perfect spot to relax with a drink, and the live music on Saturdays added a fun vibe. We loved the comfortable room with a view of the village, such a cozy atmosphere! Definitely check out the delicious panini and soup for lunch as well!

If you're in a room above the bar, brace yourself for loud music and rowdy guests—sleep may not come until after 12:30 a.m. Doors banging and smoke wafting up from the smokers outside contribute to a disruptive environment. Bathrooms could use a refresh, reflecting a need for some modernization to match the overall aesthetic.

During our two-night stay, we were thoroughly impressed by the outstanding service, especially from the lady who served breakfast each morning. The meals in the evening were delightful, and the room was impeccably clean and comfortable, making it a perfect retreat. I would, however, suggest having a few more varied options for the evening menu.

I had a fantastic time during my stay! The food was out of this world, especially the curry – I still dream about that jallander chicken! The warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel so at home, and the lovely log burner added an extra touch of coziness. I would definitely return.

The bacon at breakfast was sizzling perfection! Plus, the staff were just bonnie—so welcoming and helpful, especially the lovely lass serving us brekkie. Our room was cozy—spotless and comfy enough to melt into after a day out exploring Alford.

The mattress in our original room was shoddy, but they sorted us a beautiful new one right quick. Just a wee bit of noise from contractors slamming doors, but it didn’t dampen the overall charm of the place.
